Stress can manifest as:

Distress in other areas of a young person's life; family cohesion, positive relationships, school difficulties or defying of rules

All-night work, excess clubbing, panic when grades are not “perfect”

Active listening and empathy: It is important to be heard and validated. Gaining a young person's trust, and understanding his core issues it the first big step forward

Guidance and coping strategy: Use behavioral psychology based tools to develop effective coping strategies to deal with stress and loss, and build inner resilience

Network support: Assist in creating a safety net support system should the need arise
